Ops! The Latest 2013 Google Nexus 7 too Fragile to Sustain Drop-tests

Posted: 05 Aug 2013 05:05 PM PDT

Everybody is a little too careful when it comes to keeping their smartphones and devices away from that one drop that leaves the device unusable. Users looking for a more reliable and sturdy device in this regard must think twice before getting a Google Nexus 7 tablet, at least the recent drop tests show they should.

Google Nexus 7Recently, tests have been performed on Google's new tablet that revealed them to be equally fragile as egg shells dropped on concrete. The Android Authority blog has been drop testing the device. In these tests, the new Nexus 7 2 tablet were dropped on all four sides separately from a 4ft height, the results weren't very good.

Starting from a drop on the back, the tablet seemed to survive the drop since everything looked perfectly fine apart from a few expected scratches. Things cleared out more when Joshua Vergara, the one testing the device, tried to switch the device on. Well, Nexus 7 2 could not power back up after the small fall. Similar results were seen in another drop-tests as well.

Next was to check Nexus 7 2 by dropping on its side which resulted in awful spider web cracks in the display screen that all Smartphones owners who have had dropped their phones on hard floors know quite well. Again, the tablet was dropped on its top leaving a flown off back cover and a device easily separable in halves.

Last test was to test it on its face and it worsened things more by revealing internal parts of the sleek device while adding to the screen cracks. It is not unusual for tablets show such results when subjected to drop-tests, similar results have been shown by many tablets that came out including Apple's famous iPads that took quite some damage to the exterior.

Well, it all comes down to being more careful with your tablets and try not to drop them as they are not made to sustain it.

Posted: 05 Aug 2013 01:31 PM PDT

Till now, Google has not revealed the prominent features and details regarding one of the most wanted Smartphones by the public in all over the world this year. This is Nexus 5 by Google that has created a wave of anxiousness and excitement among the users, but still some users are of the opinion that the Nexus 5 was actually the Moto X that has been publicized by Google earlier. That is not true at all. So, guys! Let’s start the review for both of these superb Smartphones to know what new features or similarities they have brought to you.

Moto X vs Nexus 5After the great success of the Nexus 4, the users are anxiously waiting for the release of the Nexus 5, but when Moto X came to the public, the users got so excited for Moto X that Nexus 5 went back behind the curtains for some moments. The users may put on the Nexus 5 behind the curtains as Moto X is making its stamp with sales because the users had to wait for months for Moto X. The users have great expectations from this Smartphone due to its strong publicity and hype for a long time.

Moto X Specifications:

  • As the users know that Moto X has been completely manufactured in the US and initially it has been launched in the US market only. The US users can grab their Moto X in only $199.
  • The Moto X has Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Operating System.

  • Moto X provides you a dual camera system where the front facing camera comes with 2 MP and rear facing camera comes with 10 MP.

Moto X: A Smartphone on Demo Always

This amazing Smartphone has been specifically designed to be on demo always. Even if your Smartphone is asleep, you can still access it by giving it a voice instruction – OK, Search Now. The function of "Always-on" has made it one of the amazing Smartphones available in the market currently.

Readily Capturing Video Function in Moto X

The most interesting thing the users want to have in any Smartphone is the talk time. Moto X gives its users a better talk time of 13 hours.

This is what Moto X has brought for its users from the USA. It is not known whether it will be available for the users out of the USA or not, but let’s start having a bird’s eye view of the specifications of Nexus 5 so that the users could compare the specs of both of their ideal Smartphones.

Nexus 5 Specifications

The users have great expectations from Nexus 5 and they are expecting that it will be surely launched by Google, but hopefully it will be released by LG and not by Motorola. The rumored specifications of Nexus 5 have been discussed below for the information of users, but still the cat is in the sack and we are not well versed with the actual specifications.

  • It is claimed that its display screen will be Full HD 5 to 5.2”. It will have 3300 mAh batteries and at a few places the company claims that it will be 2700 mAh battery.
  • The Smartphone will contain a rear facing 13 MP camera and 800 quad-core processor.
  • The operating system of Nexus 5 will be Android 4.3 and it is also possible that the time when it releases, the users would get Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
  • The available storage space in the Nexus 5 is minimum 16+32+64 GB.
  • The connectivity options will be for 4G and LTE in this amazing Smartphone for the next generation.

Comparison Between Moto X and the Nexus 5

There are a few things that make the difference between both of these Smartphones.

Definitely the Nexus 5 will be the advanced version of the Nexus 4 and it will have some more advanced specifications, but some people are suggesting that Moto X has been derived from the Nexus model and it is not an independent release. It is not true at all as you will notice that Moto X is not pure Android.

Moto X brand Explains the Entire Story

The specifications, Moto X images and the leaks suggest only one thing that Moto X is purely a different handset and there is nothing in it that could indicate that it is a Nexus brand. The users will see no logo, no specifications and even no Nexus image on Moto X anywhere. It explains the entire story that Moto X is absolutely a different handset and there is no similarity between Moto X and the Nexus Smartphone series. It is different from the Nexus 5.

Moto X Specifications Fail to Meet Level of the Nexus 5

The specifications of Moto X include Jelly Bean 4.3, Dual core CPU, 720 pixel display resolution, 10 Megapixel rear facing camera and the back cover will be removable, etc. So, according to the analysis of the experts, these details can describe only the mid-range Smartphone for the average users, not the top ranking Smartphone that has been under construction by Google like iPhone 5S, HTC One and Galaxy S4, etc. It will be purely a different thing with a lot of amazing features and smart functions for the users as we know that Nexus 4 has already established a reputation as one of the best Smartphones of the year in the market.

So, it can be said that Google is still designing its Nexus 5 and it will appear in the market finally as a hot cake. The Moto X brand is for the people with average budget and even the average user would be able to have this with him, but the Nexus 5 by the tech giant will be launched as red-hot very soon and it will be surely for the people with higher budgets.
