InstaWeather Pro now Available for Windows Phone after iOS and Android

Posted: 11 Aug 2013 02:00 PM PDT

A new trend has hit Facebook which seems to stay for quite a long time owing to the nature of this practice. Many users have begun to upload their personal weather images to Facebook through the famous weather app InstaWeather that overlaps weather information of the area you are in on top of the picture you have taken. Before now, only iOS and Android users could benefit from this app leaving the Windows Phone users to watch the updates only.

InstaWeather ProSuch is not the case for Windows Phone users anymore. It was not going to be long before the app was offered to the third most popular Operating System for mobile devices. According to a recently published post on the social networking site, Facebook, the company has declared this app's availability for Windows Phones:

“Finally, after few months of hard work, InstaWeather for WINDOWS PHONE is here!" the post revealed this Friday.

The only drawback so far is the absence of a trial version of the app costs its users $0.99 which is still lower than the cost for iOS and Android users who can get it for $1.99. This app is designed to add weather information over the images you take, most probably on the outside, and readies them to be shared on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook or even send the images over email letting your friends and family know all about the place you are in.

Now that InstaWeather Pro has reached Windows Phone, it is only a matter of time when other apps follow suit.

Windows 8.1 Build 9471 Pre-RTM Image Leaked

Posted: 11 Aug 2013 01:08 PM PDT

The RTM update for Windows 8.1 is almost here and still the company has not unveiled any information regarding the upcoming release. It seems we will find out only on the launch time and not before. The release to happen soon has been confirmed by a leaked image, a screenshot apparently showing Windows 8.1 RTM build indicating Microsoft is done and ready with the developmental progress nearing completion of this update.

Windows 8.1 build 9471As the image shows clearly, it is Windows 8.1 with its associated build code 9471 intended for the company's developers and partners to test out the new version some time back as this version is supposedly created on 26th Of July, 2013. With this version being very recent and the RTM version almost reaching the release date, we can expect this build to be as close to the RTM build as it can be thus, the only small difference is expected of the Release To Manufacturing build.

The leaked screenshot is that of a setup screen thus, an indication of Windows 8.1 versions already sent out to specific partners ensuring RTM build to be out soon. The image has been released by a known source responsible for a number of Windows Blue leaks. Possibly, we might witness a Windows 8.1 Build 9471 leak but nothing can be said for sure as of now.

We will get our hands on more details on Windows 8.1 as the technology giant Microsoft has claimed an RTM release within this month.

Apple to Release iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C on September 10

Posted: 11 Aug 2013 12:18 PM PDT

As per the latest update on iPhone release information, AllThingsD claims the launch of the upcoming iPhone is scheduled for September 10 according to news from inside sources. What remains to be unveiled is whether the event is entirely about the upcoming iPhone 5S or is there more from Apple's side? Probably iPhone "5C" will also be released, the popularly rumored low-cost Apple iPhone production.

Apple's target market would expand with the introduction of iPhone 5C that is not very different from the current iPhone 5. As seen in some leaked images of the suspected 5C handset, the device has the same dimensions and shape with a slight difference of rounded edges. The outer shell is created of polycarbonate giving a bulky appearance and is apparently offered in a number of colors.

As far as the price hype is concerned, a tag totaling up to $490 is being rumored for the handset. The price rings a bell since iPhone 4 is priced at almost the same including all the carrier subsidies.

iPhone 5C prototype renderingApple's much talked about upcoming iPhone 5S is also rumored to follow the design strategy as in its predecessor iPhone 5 but offering a number of enhancements. Also, additional features like fingerprint sensing button, powerful 12MP camera integrated with dual-LED flash feature and the handset being launched running the latest iOS 7 set it apart. A high probability exists of the release of the final iOS 7 version as soon as iPhone 5S surfaces.

Another one coming from Apple is OS X Mavericks expected also this fall but AllThingsD believes the September 10 event might be fully dedicated to the iPhone.

Microsoft Releases Video for Scroogled Campaign Targeting Gmail

Posted: 11 Aug 2013 12:13 PM PDT

Microsoft has been on Google's case since earlier this year and now the famous Scroogled campaign has been renewed with a fresh criticism coming from Microsoft directly targeting Google's email service, Gmail.

ScroogledAccording to Microsoft, Google has overstepped its users' privacy by monitoring their personal emails to add emails to the user's Gmail account in order to promote ads. This way the email containing the ad looks like an unread email directing the user to read or at least open it to check what it contains, hence the ad campaign.

The "Scroogled" campaign is intended to urge the users to shift their attention from Google over privacy concerns towards Microsoft's recently updated Outlook.com that has a higher regard for users' privacy and its protection no matter what service their users benefit from.

Google has been attacked earlier also as Microsoft attempted to highlight privacy issues with Google Chrome that claims to sync passwords across tablets, mobile phones and desktops, which is seen by the former as monetizing user's information for targeted ad promotion across varying devices. Google's search engine has not escaped the Scroogled campaign either. For their Gmail service, Microsoft explains to its users:

Against Google WordingsMicrosoft has put some effort in their anti-Google claims as a number of videos aiming at different Google services have been released.
