Windows Defender Inefficient in Antivirus Tests, Bitdefender and Kaspersky on Top

Three tests were conducted by a Germany based security firm to evaluate the efficiency of all of the 28 system security products available in the market.

Windows Defender for Windows 8.1The first test was conducted and it exposed every security application to zero-day malware. It was only to find out whether these security applications have the capacity to block these threats or not. Kaspersky, F-Secure and Bitdefender remain at the top of the list, while Trend Micro, Symantec and Avast were the next and got the points between 97 to 100.

On the other hand, Windows Defender, the pre-installed security application in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Preview from Microsoft was able to get only 79 points in the zero-day security test and it got 97% for the method it uses to isolate the detected threats to the system. The users of Windows Defender will be defined in the situation of dismay after reading our update regarding the inefficiency of Windows Defender, but some more is here to elaborate for them.

The second test was conducted to evaluate how conveniently and simply all of the security applications catch and delete 60 thousand types of malware. Kaspersky and Bitdefender were again at highest scores, but Windows Defender got only 1 point for protection and 6 points for the third test that was regarding usability.

So guys! In the overall performance, Kaspersky, Bitdefender and Symantec were on top and Avast, Gdata and F-Secure were considered average security apps while Windows Defender was unable to get the title of an effective security app.

PlayStation 4 Going to be Launched on 15th November, Xbox One Release Date still MIA

In the Gamescom conference organized in Cologne, Germany, Sony made a pleasant announcement that the PlayStation 4 that is considered the next-gen console of Sony is going to be launched on 15th November 2013 in the United States and it will be launched in Europe on 29th November. Andrew House, the group CEO and president of Sony elaborated, “the basic aim for PS4 is ambitious, clear and unwavering. The company targeted to design the strongest platform for games with the special focus on the gamer”. He added more,

“The PS4 will be released this season in 32 countries of the world”.
