iPhone 5s Fingerprint Recognition Security Flaw Discovered [Video]

A German group of hackers known to be the largest and most respected hacking groups, go under the title of the Chaos Computing Club (CCC). The group recently announced that they have found a way to defeat Apple's touch ID system. Two experts of the iPhone's security system claimed that they believe the group when they say they found the way to fool the Touch ID.

They used the worlds' oldest trick, by creating a latex copy of someone's fingertips and using it on the scanner. They photographed the iPhone user's fingerprint, printed them on a transparent sheet and were able to create a "fake finger" to deceive the Touch ID. As a phone is a device that is highly accessible being portable, the break in the phone is still possible.

“Fingerprints should not be used to secure anything. You leave them everywhere, and it is far too easy to make fake fingers out of lifting prints,” a hacker named Starbug. "Touch ID just added convenience rather than security," he added.

The process that took hours to accomplish consisted of cracking a long number of devices such as image scanners, laser printers and etching printed circuit board kits. People leave their fingerprints in every possible place. Obtaining a set of fingerprints is not a difficult work at all. If these claims are proven true, it could be quite embarrassing for Apple as it has claimed its Touch ID to be the reason that makes it different from all the other companies.

“I think it’s legit,” said Dino Dai Zovi,” another co-author of the iOS Hacker’s Handbook. “The CCC doesn’t fool around or over-hype, especially when they are trying to make a political point.”

Fix iOS 7 Battery Drain Issues with these Easy Tips

Posted: 27 Sep 2013 05:31 PM PDT

iOS 7 with its remarkably enriched outlook has been the discussion title for almost every blog and forum. Where some people are in awe of its look, others are pointing out all the issues and the flaws of the new system among which the battery life of the phone is also raising many questions.

iOS 7 Battery LifeiOS 7 eats up battery life a little too fast for the comfort of the users. But for the sake of the customers, we have been looking at different ways to stretch the phone's battery life. The first very basic step to take is to turn off your WI-Fi connection when you are not using it. WI-FI connections absorb up battery like nothing else.

The updates for applications and backgrounds should also be turned off. Tim Cook granted Sen. John Mccain's wish to have automatic updates all the time, but the energy drained through these updates is a lot. All you need to do is go to settings, iTunes & App store and change the Updates navigator.

Disabling AirDrop is also another way to save battery. You just need to go to the control center and disable AirDrop.
You can also turn off the Parallax Shifter to turn off the 3D display. Just go to settings, general, accessibility and set the Reduce motion to Off.

Other than this, you can turn off your location services for apps and functions that do not require it by going to the settings, privacy and then location services. Lastly, you can turn off the auto brightness navigator. It not only helps dim the sunlight shining on your face but actually saves a lot of battery!
