Microsoft’s Comparison of Xbox One with PlayStation 4 Hardware Specifications

PlayStation 4 by Sony looks very powerful machine when you view it in pictures rather than Xbox One by Microsoft. The reason is that the games that have been created for both of these machines are quite similar in the context of graphics for leastwise the life span of every console within the initial few years.

Xbox One by MicrosoftIn the current week, Albert Penello, the marketing head of Microsoft Xbox, who has supported the hardware specifications of Xbox One previously, threw a message in the NeoGAF forums where he stated some comparisons between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

He elaborates that you cannot consider PS4 because it has 18 control units as compared to the Xbox One that has only 12 control units. He further explains that the Multi-core processors lose efficiency with the most number of Control Units and so, the control units of Microsoft work 6% faster as compared to the control units of PS4.

Moreover the users will notice more bandwidth in the Xbox One due to its DDR3 memory. On the other hand the PS4 has a limited bandwidth because it has GDDR5 memory. GDDR5 has 176 GB/Sec memory on the peak while Xbox One has 272 GB/Sec on peak.

The CPU of Xbox One is 10% greater than the CPU of the PlayStation 4. The Xbox One not only has a speedy processor, but the best audio chip as well.

Penello stated that he did not try to belittle the hardware specifications of the PlayStation 4. The users may feel something like that, but he just tried to make a comparison of both of the systems. He added that Microsoft hardware engineers and senior graphic engineer will provide the users a deep insight into the specifications and features of Xbox One.
