| “Samsung still playing with Apple’s Strings – iPhone 5s A7 Chip Designed by Samsung” Posted: 22 Sep 2013 08:48 AM PDT Samsung is still holding Apple; in a blog post by Chipworks, it was announced that Apple's A7 chip for iPhone 5s has been designed by Samsung. A fight regarding Apple's reliance on Samsung for the manufacturing of chips, revealed this fact.
Chipworks was also able to figure out that M7, known as the "motion processor" gave a vibe that it had been designed by another party. And according to the analysis and survey conducted, Chipworks was expecting an NXP device and an NXP device was what they got. The M7 is in the form of NXP LPC18A1. The LPC1800 series being of a very high performance represents a great success for NXP. Before the launch of iPhone 5S, speculation was flying around that Apple might be getting a new chip supplier company by the name of TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co). However the rumor turned out to be just a buzz setting our tails on fire. However, it is being anticipated that TSMC will start for Apple from January 2014. The reason for this expectation is that Apple is cutting its supply orders to the Samsung plant in Austin.
