Samsung Sets Records by Selling over 23m Galaxy S4 in 2nd Quarter

Posted: 24 Jul 2013 01:44 PM PDT

The Samsung Galaxy S4 has created quite hype in the Smartphone market even though criticism over the new Samsung device has been quite alarming. Reports have confirmed that Samsung has their S4 device being sold hands on with sales reaching up to 23 million Galaxy S4 devices and that too in just the second quarter of current year. The fact that the new Galaxy S4 handset was far from the expected has clearly no degrading effect on the sales.

Galaxy S4TrendForce, a firm with expertise in research revealed the fact that the Smartphone has been fairly popular ever since it was revealed and raised the sales bars by increasing the shipments to up to 31.4 percent year-on-year in only a matter of three months. According to DigiTimes, the sales reached to a whopping 221 million units for Galaxy S4.

The company has further explained the trends in the sales since the release. According to the company reports, there has been a drop in requests for the high-end handsets however, things are not the same for mid-level and entry level parts of the market that are still reveling in the growing demands.

Records have been broken when Samsung shipped more than 71 million handsets in the second quarter of the year alone. Definitely, the company didn't see that one coming but met the high demand with ease nonetheless. Smartphone retailers in China also witnessed a rise in demands. Huawei, ZTE, Lenovo, and Coolpad have been the hottest selling brands.

Activate Flip 3D Feature in Windows 8.1 by Using free Switcher Tool

Posted: 24 Jul 2013 01:07 PM PDT

All of the users of Windows were astonished to see an entirely changed Start Menu in Windows 8 and same is the case with Windows 8.1. There are a number of things missing from Windows 8.1. One of these cool features is Windows Flip 3D that cannot be found in Windows 8.1. It can be found in Windows Vista and Windows 7, but it is absent from the advanced version of Microsoft.

Flip 3D in Windows 8.1Due to its presence in Windows 7 and Windows Vista, the users were very comfortable while switching from one app to another one. They did not need to close the application to go to another app. The users used flip by pressing the Windows logo key + Tab simultaneously or alt + Tab.

If you want to use the same combination of keys i.e. Alt + Tab in Windows 8.1, you would be able to move among the Metro apps.

If you are extremely fond of using Flip 3D and you want to use it in Windows 8.1, you need to get a third party app known as "Switcher" that allows you to use the function of Flip 3D in Windows 8.1.

Enable Flip 3D with Switcher Tool in Windows 8.1

Step 1: First you need to download switchers from here.

Step 2: Now you need to launch it after installation by going to the location where you had installed it.

Step 3: Now you can change its settings as per your requirements.

Step 4: You need to open it and in "General" that can be seen on the left side of the window. Select the option "Grid" to change its style.

General Settings in Switcher in Windows 8.1Step 5: Now you need to open its "Appearance" where you will find an option "Enable Window Numbers". You need to uncheck this feature.

Appearance Settings in Switcher for Windows 8.1Step 6: If you click on "Shortcuts", you would be able to set your own shortcut that you want to use flip 3D style. In my case, I use "Windows + S" keys to use this amazing feature in Windows 8.1. Once you have done with the settings, you need to press "Hide" key.

Shortcuts Settings in Switcher for Windows 8.1Now you can experiment your shortcut you had saved in the shortcuts section to check whether Flip 3D is active in your Window 8.1 or not. You would be able to see all of the opened apps in 3D form by using your “Hotkeys”

Nexus 7 Tablet Running Android 4.3 Revealed by Google

Posted: 24 Jul 2013 12:47 PM PDT

Google is looking forward to a slimmer version of its very own Nexus 7 tablet since the Internet company accelerates its competition with Apple and Amazon.com in the rapidly growing mobile computing market.

GoogleThe glam shine devices that were brought to surface on Wednesday in San Francisco are planning to go on sale in the U.S on Tuesday at Google’s online store and a couple of other retailers that are concerned with the thing.

The additional firepower that was intentionally purposely added to the second generation of Nexus 7 tablets is likely to come up with a greater price. A model that has storage of 16 gigabytes is likely to be  sold out for $229, a $30 per increase as compared to the basic price of the original Nexus 7 that was released nearly a year earlier. Still that is around 30 percent below the $329 price that is charged by Apple Inc. For the iPad Mini. A similar Kindle Fire HD tablet from Amazon.com Inc. Is recently doing the sales for just $199. Here let us tell you that a 32-gigabyte version of the Nexus 7 is for $269 with an increase of $20 in price.

Google Inc. Claims that the new line of Nexus tablets encourages a better-defined 7-inch display screen and a CPU that ensures to be almost double as faster than the predecessor. Dual stereo speakers have been recently added for better sound quality, and the device’s battery duration has also been improved and provided with an extension of nearly an hour. The Nexus 7 is also going to be the first device that is going to get the 4.3 version of its Android software.

Android 4.3 is Available for Nexus 4, 7, 10 and Galaxy S4 Google Edition

San Francisco is entertaining Google's press conference today that marked the announcement of Android Jelly Bean 4.3. Instead of the much awaited Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, the company introduced Jelly Bean 4.3 instead as was evident from the reports circulating the past few days. We might witness the Key lime Pie edition sometime in October when Android will celebrate its fifth birthday.

Android 4.3Android Jelly Bean 4.3 was highly expected to come out in the I/O event last May but the Mountain View based company intended to keep the focus of this developer conference on a number of new features all of which are offered in Jelly Bean 4.3. Some of the highlights of the event included Google Play Game Services, Play Music streaming service, a new Google Maps, improved Google Plus interface, photo processing and a number of other fascinating features.

So which devices are going to welcome the new update? As far as reports informed us, Nexus Smartphones and tablets are going to be the first in the line. HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition are also expected to receive the update. We are still interested to know if HTC One Google Edition is among the listed devices since Google officials gave no word on the smartphones fate.

Since Android 4.3 Jelly Bean did not bring any major change it might just have been an excuse to provide the OEMs some time before they can move ahead to Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. Google intends to minimize Android fragmentation and Jelly Bean 4.3 is just the right kind of update for the purpose. Since it is not vitally important for devices, tablet and phone producers can jump directly to Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie instead.

Though not major but Android Jelly Bean 4.3 does come with newer features and what the leaks as well reports from today's event tell us, this update includes support for Bluetooth Smart, OpenGL ES 3.0 resulting in much better game graphics, DRM APIs, simple  text input and Bluetooth AVRCP. You will also find additions in support languages covering Hindi, Swahili, Zulu, Hebrew, Arabic (RTL), Africans and Amharic as well.

End users might not find above mentioned features of much use but they can surely look forward to features such as restricted profile options in tablets, Swiffer user-switching and with Dial pad to aid you in finding contacts without going over the hassle of going through the People app. Also, Android Jelly Bean 4.3 has an enhanced interface for the camera app with Google Keep being part of the system apps now. According to a leaked android 4.3 version of Nexus 4, the update has fixes for WiFi, Mobile Data and Bluetooth. Measures have also been taken like integration of background WiFi to improve battery life of the devices.

As per tradition, Android Jelly Bean 4.3 will be made available for Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, and Samsung Galaxy S4 in stages.
